Our mission is to provide the highest quality biblical counseling care to missionaries and relief workers as a ministry of the church, at no cost to the recipients.
A Message from Sara…
We love missionaries and relief workers! Don’t worry, we won’t put you on the proverbial pedestal, but we do respect your calling and we are grateful for your heart for Jesus and your willingness to serve. God is with you and for you, and if you need some help to continue on the path, we want you to know we’re here for you.
My name is Sara Shannon, and I’m the coordinator of this network of volunteer counselors. And I get it. Together with my biblical counseling colleagues, we are uniquely positioned to help. Our goal is to provide soul care at no cost to you, as a ministry of the Body of Christ. There are many passages that call believers to one-anothering soul care. I’ve chosen to share Colossians 3:15-17 because it speaks to the peace of Christ, the ministry of counseling, and the highest standard.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as you teach and admonish [or counsel] one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
All of our counselors are certified and have significant cross-cultural experience either as relief workers, missionaries, or both. Most are actively serving in other professions or ministries as well as offering their time to counsel. It is a privilege for us to come alongside missionaries and disaster relief workers in this part of their journey. The Lord neither slumbers nor sleeps and is always at work in each of us, to carry on the good work He began to completion, until the day of Christ Jesus. We hope you will take the next step toward getting help with your deepest needs or perhaps helping someone you love who is hurting. We look forward to what God will do in your life as well as what He will do in the life of your counselor.
God bless you.
