Support Soul Care
There is a lot to be thankful for when it comes to the support of BCMW’s Soul Care ministry. We are very excited about what the Lord is doing and thank you for all your support!
Dear cross-cultural servants,
Don’t worry, we won’t put you on the proverbial pedestal, but we do respect your calling and we are grateful for your heart for Jesus and your willingness to serve. God is with you and for you, and if you need some help to continue on the path, we want you to know we’re here for you.

Coordinator: We love missionaries and relief workers! All of our counselors are certified and have significant cross-cultural experience either as relief workers, missionaries, or both. Most are actively serving in other professions or ministries as well as offering their time to counsel. It is a privilege for us to come alongside missionaries and disaster relief workers in this part of their journey.

From Sara: I Returned to Peru after a 5-year absence. It was quite surreal thinking back on arriving as a single missionary 40 years ago! What a journey God had planned! We flew from Lima to Huanuco, thus avoiding the demonstrators and road blockages. There was no water at our apartment and dirt was everywhere from our windy city in a dry Andean valley at 6,200 feet.
I showered with a bucket of cold water and mistook conditioner for shampoo. Feeling more like a ‘real’ missionary! Oh, and the heater in our Maine cabin stopped working with temps of -17F over the weekend. Small inconveniences compared to our brothers and sisters in so many parts of the world…
It is a joy to connect missionaries with our wonderful missionary care network counselors. I’m preparing to teach a course on human development for the Baptist Theological Seminary of Lima and getting ready to receive a team of volunteers from Maine. They will be working on a center for discipleship and life/work training for Quechua Peruvians with disabilities.
